The hosts, Cape & Drew explain the mission of the podcast, who they are, how they met, why they pursued sports, what made them good players, what they’ve been through and how this collectively shaped them into who they are today. The conversation shifts to how it was growing up playing basketball, who their favorite players were and who they tried to model their games after. They also mention some of the players they played against during AAU tournaments (some of which play(ed) in the NBA). The discussion then moves to when the realization hit that they were good enough to play college basketball and comparing participating in high school sports vs. college sports. Drew speaks to his personal experience playing at a Predominately White Institution (PWI) and then transferring to a Historically Black College/University (HBCU). Those conversations lead Cape and Drew into explaining their worst days of workouts and conditioning as student-athletes to some of their best memories of college life. Both men divulge they’re choice of the best basketball movie of all time and then share advice to future student-athletes based on their knowledge from their own life experiences.
